Kaleb - On my '81 380 it is controlled by an engine temperature sensor mounted in the rear of the right cyl head, but on some of the later years it was controlled by oil temperature and the sender was down by the oil filter. Do you have a 126 or 107 CD manual. If so I can direct you to the correct section
