I've had that happen with BMW drivers mostly. A quick slap on the trunk lid usually gets me yelled at. One guy stopped and said "How dare you!" I explained that if he was close enough for me to slap he was too dammed close and if he'd like to call the police I'd explain my side of the story and he could explain his. Apparently he didn't like that idea much and took off in a huff.
