250? 400?
Would you mean 25 and 40, possibly?

Mileage is not great. Running a 4.3liter V8. I get 250 in all town driving,
and around 400 or so all highway

I wasn't that interested in a V12. I was thinking more along the lines of an
S500 for the wife.
Stuff like the heated/cooled seats would be a big draw for her. Me, I don't
really care for the froo-froo stuff.
Jaime says the telematics on these are poor, and highly integrated to the point
where if one part breaks the whole system is kaput. Not good.
What kind of mileage do you get out of yours! I'm assuming it's a V8?
As for the transmission wicking problem, he's referring to an issue the 722.6
and later transmissions have where a seal or O-ring on the electrical connector
leaks, and capillary action allows the ATF to wick up the harness and into the
a transmission ECU. It can be fixed in about five minutes with a $12 part.

They are not as robustly built or appointed as the W140. A very korean car
feel to them. I put 10k on mine. They have the 96-05 transmission wicking
problems. Door and trunk assist have failed. There are error codes that lie
about what is really going on. My signals really do work, but the computer
does not believe it. Bound to get more wrong codes.
My opinion would be to stay away from any V12. The engines will bankrupt you.
The standard options in that car will tend to fail, expensively, and unless you
can fix on your own, or drive it busted, will suck on the wallet. Owning a
Grosser will be more fulfilling

I am really intrigued by the W220 cars after looking at a 2001 S600 a couple of
weeks ago. My biggest concern is that they are frighteningly inexpensive,
which, like the earlier W140 S600 models, makes me fear that they're unreliable
and expensive to repair.
Anyone here have any experience with the W220 chassis cars?
