Knowing government as I do.. somewhere, there is a protocol book which covers exactly the pecking order of titles when addressing members of congress and other elected and appointed "royalty".
I understand there was a law or regulation passed recently that makes verbal attacks on elected congress people a crime, so their protocol dictates they address me "Will the defendant please rise". Seems only fair I should address them the same way.. [Tongue firmly in cheek]. Grant... Citizen Rtd.
