More like won't or doesn't want to. He would need to go to MB for them, just like you would/should. I just got keys for 2 different cars, picked them up (along with a few other pieces/parts) yesterday (Friday). My guys at the dealer have never asked me for any proof of ownership but I am a registered repair shop and have been dealing with them for a long, long time. The general public should be asked to produce proof of ownership.
