I'd rather have a foot of powder than a quarter inch of ice. Angie's grandparent's had a snowblower they haven't used for 2 years that they wanted to give to Angie's parents so we brought it to our house and yesterday I got it running. Drained out oil that acted like honey and put in some good Mobil 1 5w40, had to grease the shift mechanism with some Mobil 1 axle grease before it would shift right. Primed it with some gas down the carb and it fired right up. Learned how to adjust the drive clutch too. It turns out this machine is an exact copy of our snowblower (actually ours is 55 units newer by serial number) so I took what I learned and adjusted the drive clutch on ours. Then I managed to break the grease fitting for the intermediate shaft. Actually its not so bad as that, the grease fitting is a press fit and it just fell out. When the weather is warmer I'll tap the axle and use a threaded fitting. With grease in the intermediate shaft its MUCH easier to move the machine when not using the drive. All in all a good afternoon but I was COLD when I was done. It was about 15F when I went out, 10F when I finished but they're predicting more snow on the way so I wanted it done... -Curt
