They're not troublesome, they just have a weakness with the conductor plates. replace it and you're good to go. You should also replace the pressure regulator spring while you're in there, too.
Could also have a bad connector bushing - they leak and ATF can wick up the harness. $12 for a redesigned replacement bushing from the dealer. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w140-s-class/1474350-photo-diy-722-6-conductor-plate.html#post3743142 Dan > On Apr 8, 2015, at 8:12 PM, Mitch Haley <[email protected]> wrote: > > Did the 1997 W140s have the 5 speed with the troublesome electronics? > > http://lansing.craigslist.org/cto/4970043913.html > > _______________________________________ > http://www.okiebenz.com > > To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ > > To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: > http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com > _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
