They're not troublesome, they just have a weakness with the conductor plates.  
replace it and you're good to go.  You should also replace the pressure 
regulator spring while you're in there, too.

Could also have a bad connector bushing - they leak and ATF can wick up the 
harness.  $12 for a redesigned replacement bushing from the dealer.
