So, we removed the frozen compressor (new 4 seasons ago or less) We flushed about half the system with printing blanket/roller wash and blew it out
we added about 8 oz of mineral oil to the compressor and the new drier We installed a new $152 ebay compressor and the amazon $11.50 drier (Behr branded from china) We replaced a bunch of green o rings wherever we opened something We used the $17 set of compressor sealing rings We evacuated and charged it with genuine R-12 and …. voila …. 40 degree cold AC it took two of us about 5.5 hours … i'm a decent mechanic and the other guy is an AC expert, but we're both about 60 and it takes longer than it used to i'll take it down to SAV in a few days and test it out how long will it last, who knows 3 years sucks and 5 years would make me ecstatic! I never had to add freon throughout the life of the last compressor thanks, xx rick Rick Hawkins _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
