Gee, on my 201s (2) with headlight wipers, the shaft was threaded and had a
nut on the end which was known to loosen itself from time to time. To access
it, the short end cap is swung out, not the wiper arm.
Your description is FAR better than mine. The hicky under the thingy
came loose and needs to be tightened.
