The adventure continues I got the guts out of the car. Removed the w126 seating and drove it around the block sitting on the spare tire. Engine runs, transmission still stalls out the car in anything but L. Parking brake was non op, so I used the set from Q for Gump, but could not get the dang lower springs to hook together. Disks look ok. Found a set of Ronal 16" rims with michelin MXV tires for $40 off a 220 wagon (no idea of W designation).
This morning I was trying to drive the car to the shop so they could do the springs and deal with the out of whack transmission/stall issue. I got half way there and the car stalled and then would not start. Lucky for me, I was going downhill and able to pull into a parking lot at a corner mart. Called for a tow, but that was going to take over an hour, so had #1 boy pick me up. Had breakfast and drove back to the car, when a paving crew pulls onto the lot. The car is in the middle of the lot and they are trying to set up for work. More luck, the tow showed up before they got too deep into work. We will see what all repairs the car needs to hit the road. clay 2002 s430 - Victor, a Stately & well tailored chap 1974 450sl - Frosch - Two tone green 1976 300D - Blei Vanst - it looks silvery 1972 220D - Gump - She was green, simple and ran 1995 E300D - Gave her life to save me against a Dame in a SUV POS 1987 SDL - Beware Nigerian Scammers _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
