Get the Certificate. It will look good on the kitchen wall when
SWMBO has the doctor buddies over.
A guy I know at a CC who was in change of continuing ed had a sheep
seller's licence on the wall. He never sold sheep, but he was one of
3 people in the state licensed to sell 'em. He did it as a lark. A
few years later the state revoked his license because they figgered
out he never sold any sheep.
My buddy has been taking serious baking classes at the local tech
college (he is a retired doctor and loves baking though they wanted
him to take an English test to make sure he could communicate well
enough to learn) and tells me that it is free once you hit 60 years
on your meter. I recently did that (HTF did that happen????) so was
thinking to go learn welding since it costs nothing but time and I
think a materials fee. They have a whole sequence to get a
certificate but I was thinking that maybe just a couple of the
proper classes would be sufficient? Or just go for it? I could
probably fit it all in around my current obligations.
Here is the list of courses (copy/paste sorta messes up the
formatting of the pdf

Any thoughts from the welding pros on a strategy? Should I talk to
them to see what a hobbyist would be best to do?
