I have not kept track of things closely enough so I might be wrong on this but it appears to me that MB is now copying asian designs. A few years back it was the other way around. A friend has a nice 2000 Lexus sedan that on first glance makes me think Mercedes.
Now, when I see a new Mercedes, I think, "Hyundai" until I can see the star.
The new Mercedes do not look "classy" to me.
I do suppose they are trying to appeal to a younger group than me.

AND it is really ugly. I don't care for the styling of the exterior or the dash. I guess I am getting old. This one was built for wealthy young asian guys.

Looks like a bug someone stepped on... and black. To quote the immortal words of Wilton, "hafta let it go!"

I'm with Randy. fugly car. I like the cars of the 60s through the end of the 124 and 126 chassis, before the bowtie guys took over and started hanging unreliable outdatable electronics crap all over. (Sorry Jaime, I know you do some whizbang things, but I kinda like the simplicity of the 110 and 123.)

Same with BMW Kraftrad. I love all the old ones up through the /7. The R 9T is interesting, but not as pure as the older ones. The /2 with earles forks are works of art.

I may need to move to central MS and hang out with Vetch and learn the tricks of sourcing and restoring /2 and /5/6/7 BMW Kraftrad. Either that or I wanna restore tractors. clean and simple. The design of tractors in the 30s (and sold into the 50s) was clean and simple, so you don't scare away horse farmers. Once nobody farmed with horses anymore (60s) tractors became much more complex and busy designs.

Now JD and Ag Leader kick apple and foogle's butts on the self driving front. JD has had self driving tractors out for 20 years. Ag leader about as long, and Kinze is the new kid on the block.

The letter model JD and IH tractors are fun. The other brands from that era are ok too. Fergie and AC had some innovative things.
