To remove the ashtray assembly, take out the ashtray door and container
(I think it has a spring clip at the rear, push down, rotate to clear
the top, lift out), then remove the two screws at the bottom that are
covered by the ashtray when it's in place..
Console cover comes up when you remove the screw under the carpet that
holds the rear edge down. Pull the carpet up, remove screw, then pull
up on the angle bracket and the wood trim, along with fader and mirror
switch will swivel up. Lift up until the hooks on the front come clear
of the console.
