Yeah, sorta. They don't count people that stopped looking for jobs though. 
Whats more important is that new unemployment claims are down and people 
willing to quit their jobs are up.
Unemployment numbers usually jump up a little to indicate a rising economy as 
people that had previously been out of the workforce start looking again. We 
saw that some time ago. I personally think things are better than the 
economists let on, they're the worst bunch of pile-on idiots I've ever seen. No 
economist actually wants to get caught saying something so he just repeats 
whatever the other guys are already saying. Thus the economy is bad long before 
anybody really knows about it because they're all busy telling you the good 
times will last for ever. Then when things have turned around they're spending 
all their time telling you that the sky is falling so they don't notice...
