He doesn't specify the thread size, but it looks like it will work. I
think I spent that much in 1972 dollars to get an adapter made for a normal
slide hammer puller. Mine screws onto the 5/8 UNC thread of a commercial
slide hammer that I borrowed. Later I made my own slide hammer from a
piece of 5/8 rod and a wrist pin from a JD 2 cyl that weighs about 4
lb. I can't remember the thread diameter, but i remember the pitch is 1mm.
on the id of the prechamber.
The thread pitch on the ring is 2mm FWIW.
To remove the ring, you might be able to do it with a ground socket. I
think Dave M just sold a set of the ring tool and slide hammer for a very
reasonable price. Before I had the tool, I removed the rings with a small
chisel and a small hammer. The ring tool makes the job very easy. For
years the prechamber puller and the ring tool were the ONLY MB special
tools I ever had. Last year I bought the special socket for the IP
delivery valves.
Good Luck

The new 220D is safely stowed in the garage and ready to give up
it prechambers. I am thinking of grinding down a socket to fit
the slotted ring. Will the aforementioned slide hammer be able to yank
it out?
Thanks,
