They all differ. Most common seems to be just make an offer and they take it. Its essentially a garage/yard sale. Some sales take bids on paper and sell to the highest at the end. I lost a 1996 Saab 2 stroke by about $50 with this process once: Very frustrating.
I'd contact the sale people and try to see and buy in advance.
