In the past week I took delivery of a new car camera. It has a mount that attaches to the stem of the rear view mirror and a couple power options. One is a cig lighter plug.. the other is a hard wire for "key on operation" which kicks up the camera any time key is on.
After driving in the city a lot recently, decided I needed one for the "city car".. camera has 140 degree view and adjustable focus that is good enough to read license plates if you want.. certainly can read the stoplight condition. records to SD card, 32 bit, that gives 14 hrs record time, then loops to record over.. Camera records at 1080, so will play on computer screen or TV .. It's made by "Black Box G1W-CB model" ... with all the attachments, about $90 .. seems like good insurance for an incident like happened to Wilton.. ie "Officer, the light was green, I had the light".. case closed.. watch the video..
