Alles. I lost the tach in the 1987 300TD. Checked OVP etc. etc. ad nauseum. It was a diode way in the back of the fuse box (2 pin plug assy). The diode was an 1n4007 (1 amp) which was replaced by an 1n5404 (3 amp).
Problem solved. YMMV Fred Moir. Lynn MA. Diesel preferred. ________________________________ From: Mercedes <mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com> on behalf of Max Dillon via Mercedes <mercedes@okiebenz.com> Sent: 28 June 2016 01:51 To: Mercedes Discussion List Cc: Max Dillon Subject: Re: [MBZ] 300 SDL tach But generally the OVP relay failure also has the ABS and / or SRS light activated as well, I think, so that may not be your issue. OM603 tachometer sensor is on transmission bell-housing, next to starter, and feeds into either the engine control computer or the KLIMA relay. At this point I'm thinking a dead tachometer. -- Max Dillon Charleston SC '87 300TD '95 E300 _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
