My split system quit cooling last night, the head units are blinking which I think (if my Korenglish is working) means the refrigerant is low. My HVAC guy is slammed but says he'll come tomorrow which will be OK.

I am thinking I need to get the "license" and watch what he does then just buy a gauge set and a tank of gas and do my own topping off every year. Actually I have watched and it is pretty much just getting enough in for the pressures to come up properly.

These mini-splits are great but there are on my system 16 connections (2 at each head unit and 8 on the outside unit) so the probability of even a very tiny leak is fairly high, and those compression connections are somewhat problematic even when being very careful on the connections. This charge has lasted since Nov '14 so that is not bad, considering.
