I found the C-2 catapult launch from Enterprise quite disorienting, at least
in the passenger area in back. The C-2 COD (carrier onboard delivery) is
essentially an E-2 Hawkeye without the radome. Like most military passenger
setups (not jump seats), the seats face aft and there are no windows. The
catapult delivered about 5g's, which is interesting when you are facing
backwards, "hanging" in the straps, with no visual reference. My earlier
C-1 COD flights off Kittyhawk were much less violent but those boats sure
look tiny from the air. Both of those carriers are now "retired". I feel
old.
