This appears to be a classic example of jury nullification. There are always
(at least) 2 sides to every story. Clearly, the defendants committed the
acts they were charged with, so the jury must have seen something redeeming
in the evidence and arguments presented by the defense. Overreach by the
federal government? The tasing, takedown, and arrest of a defense attorney
seem...extraordinary in that setting.

Since you have some connection to the situation (BLM) I am curious to know
your thoughts on the outcome of the trial with the Bundys and their
occupation of the Federal lands in Oregon.

I will say that I was stunned to see that they were acquitted. I only hope
that the government pursues civil charges for the damage they did to Federal
property.
