This appears to be a classic example of jury nullification. There are always (at least) 2 sides to every story. Clearly, the defendants committed the acts they were charged with, so the jury must have seen something redeeming in the evidence and arguments presented by the defense. Overreach by the federal government? The tasing, takedown, and arrest of a defense attorney seem...extraordinary in that setting.
