I have a question to put to the group.

Seems many have cars with clear coat that has degraded, I have several with
that happening.

The question is: Does anyone know of a way to remove just the clear coat
and leave the base coat intact? Is there a chemical process to strip clear
coat only?
I've looked everywhere I can think of and not found one. Sanding it off
also ruins the base color coat.

Anyone?
