My MIL had bought Long Term Care (LTC) insurance which covered the 5K/mo. cost of a small elder care home just a few minutes away from our house. The family farm remained intact and was passed on to my wife and her siblings as a result. My MIL was cared for extremely well by the lovely family who ran this excellent facility. In our area the majority of these family run homes are operated by Romanian immigrants, who thus make a substantial contribution to the community, work very hard, and in doing so create substantial wealth for their families quickly.
