205 will be about 2 inches greater diameter than 185
width will be close to 1 inch greater
actual speed will be about 65 mph when speedo shows 60 mph

Not huge differences so long as there is enough room in the wheelwell.
If the price is right, put them on and try them.
If it does not seem right, re-sell the tires and get some different ones.

A question for the tire specialists on the list if you would please. I have a
1980 300SD which originally was designed for 185 70 14 tires. I've always run
195 70 14 tires for the past 20+ years. I have the opportunity to get a set of
new Hankook 205 75 14 tires for free or cheap. Would this size be ok? I know
some people use 205 70 14. The brand is not an issue as I don't drive much. My
current Michelin tires are dry rotting from age and need replaced even for
short driving.
Thanks for any suggestions and advice.
Best Wishes,
Roger
