When I was in B-52H's ('71-'75) they had about 4 - 5k hrs; those same airplanes now have about 15 - 17 k hrs.

Yes, and unfortunately caused the demise of Aloha Airlines. Aloha Airlines had an outstanding safety record. One death from one incident in its entire lifetime, and that incident was from a failure of inspection techniques developed by the Mfgr and the FAA, not from fault of the airline. To its credit, the 737 stayed together enough to land, and to its credit, the flight crew coped with the catastrophic failure and landed the plane. Those guys (and the cabin crew) are every bit as much heros as "Sully" but got/get NO recognition

I still miss Aloha Airlines. They were one of the best.

Different animal but:

The airframe, the 152nd Boeing 737 built, named/Queen Liliuokalani/afterLili'uokalani <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liliuokalani>, withregistration <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aircraft_registration>N73711,^[2] <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aloha_Airlines_Flight_243#cite_note-2> was built in 1969 and delivered to Aloha Airlines as a brand-new aircraft. While the airframe had only accumulated 35,496 flight hours prior to the accident, those hours were over 89,680 flight cycles (a flight cycle is defined as a takeoff and a landing), owing to its use on short flights.^[3] <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aloha_Airlines_Flight_243#cite_note-ASN-3>

This is in regard to the 737 that lost a big part of its roof just aft of the cockpit and yet managed to land safely.
