My daughtter did a semester in Granada, Spain and lived in an apartment with 3 or 4 other girls,  Their hot water was heated by propane, with a tank under the sink cabinet.  They'd run out like every week and of course collecting money from them all was a challenge, so they mostly went without hot water.  But they would swap tanks at a little store a block or so away, have to lug the full tank back to the apt and up to the 4th floor.  They were the standard BBQ tanks so nothing apparently yurpeen or commie units about them.  That might have made cold showers more tolerable too (or they went native).  The heater was totally lame too, and the shower put out about a gallon per hour and it took about 5 min to heat up.

I love Merca and my 90gal hot water tanks and I took out those flow restrictors in my faucets and shower heads.

A 20# propane tank should be good down to about -20F, after that things get
iffy, or so I'm told anyway, we don't get that cold here really.
Which reminds me of something, how do folks in metric countries refer to their
propane tanks? Buy weight or volume or other?
