I've had problems with getting a propane torch on a 1pound bottle to run in cold weather. The household tanks, 500 gal, 1000 gal or whatever seem to always work. Lots more surface area in a horizontal tank.

I’ve seen problems with 250 gallon tanks at 0F, usually because they were full and there wasn’t enough wetting surface. This is especially critical with motor fuel applications as it’s all about volume, not pressure.
