Question: Does your state have emissions inspection required?
If it does, do they check for presence of ALL emissions devices?
If they do, and it's "missing" here, it's an automatic fail until you
retest with all emissions devices in place and working...
Or, perhaps, in your state, the car is exempt?

From what I can find out by reading, it appears that there is no
detriment to performance by eliminating the air pump. I can plug the
hole in the air cleaner housing. What do you do with the engine inlet
from the air pump? Just take off the hose and leave it hang on the
engine? Is there a plug made? It appears to be about 20 mm x 1.5mm
thread.
There are no pipes out of the exhaust manifolds. No EGR is apparent,
so there is not performance detriment from that. It does have an o2
sensor in the exhaust.
