Worn low/reverse band, I would suspect (don't know the MB nomenclature, alas). Problem is that if that one is worn, so are all the clutch packs, and in that tranny, by the time the clutch packs wear out (250,000 miles or so), you really need to do a complete teardown and inspection -- worn band drums, bad overrunning clutch springs, worn thrust washers on the planetary pinions, bad bearings, it's gonna need a new drive sleeve for the governor, probably time to recondition the valve body and replace the 15 or so ball bearings, and so on.

Not a turbo 350, which is a three hour job once you done one or two, the mechanicals NEVER wear out on those except for the stupid plastic bushings. 622.x trannies are a different beast.
