YES, that is the pressure relief valve on the back (inside) of the IP.   Has been at least since the debut of the OM621 engine. (1958?)

There was a discussion on this list a couple years ago about stretching or replacing the spring to get the relief valve back in spec.

That’s what he told me. I’ll believe it when I see the numbers. He doesn’t keep
records like I do, so I suspect he was referring to a lengthy road trip he did
to Atlanta. He probably got good mileage on that.

And yes, it does have ICE COLD AIR.

I did replace the hoses I could see when I got the car. This was the diesel
that the PO had cobbled up some crazy arrangement with the aluminum
"catch can” rather than replace all of the little breather lines and fittings
on the valve cover. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get at the line that failed at the
time, so it didn’t get replaced.

Does anyone know if there is something special about the bolt that goes into
the banjo fitting on the engine side of the IP on this engine (OM606)? I ask
because it looked like there was a allen head plug or screw in the middle of
the bolt head. I turned it as little as possible to loosen it in case there was
some sort of adjustment.
