I have a 1/2" beam-type wrench for larger fasteners and a 3/8" click-type (graduated in inch-lbs) for smaller stuff. I've gotten by with those.
Also remember that most torque wrenches are most accurate in the middle of their range. So if you need 100 ft-lbs, the wrench should probably read to at least 150.
