Best wishes to Andrew and MMM for quick and complete recoveries! I wanted to be able to double-clutch again, so I had both done at the same time. It was partly a financial decision, as I had reached my maximum out-of-pocket for the year. Mine were total replacements using a zirconium implant, which has a longer expected service life than other alloys. Recovery took a while, but the only real problem was some withdrawal symptoms from the opioids. I took much less than the prescribed dosage, and was thus surprised by the result. I should have tapered off rather than stop suddenly.
The end result was very good and so worth it all.
