If thats the case its your problem.Curley and I might disagree about using
5w40 but 10w30 or really xw30 is NOT approved for a Mercedes diesel. In fact I
bet it doesn't carry a C specification at all...

I suppose I should be more clear...ambient temps are 115F, engine temps are 95C
to 105C.
Maybe go old school Delo 15w-40...
