The upper strut mounts look fine, and the upper shaft of the strut is held
still / not turning in those, so the turning motion which is accompanied by
creaking and groaning and some popping vibrations I can feel, that motion
should be at the interface of the upper strut shaft and the body of the
strut.  The front of the car also sits pretty low, so I suspect they would
fail the FSM test that measures how much force is required to compress
them.
