The brain is separate, and somewhere behind the glovebox area.
I have yet to find a bad one.

small piece of tissue on the temp sensor intake near the interior light with
negative resultions for the appearance of suction.  2nd (group of)

Aspirator (behind glovebox) is seized.  Try lubricating it first,
but you may need a new one.  With the car off but ignition on (in
quiet conditions where the ticking of the clock is loud) you should
be able to hear a gentle whirr from over there.

Yes.

application, and is this one as easily repaired as the 123?

The tube is not foam, and runs down the A-pillar.  Does not seem
particularly susceptible to age degradation.
