I was flown into and from a strip like that from ANC to the Theodore R. and 
back many years back. We had hoofed and waded back to the strip from our 
campsite along the river, waiting for the plane to return from dropping off the 
first half of our group. Our guy landed, taxied down to the end of the strip, 
but took more than 1/2 hour to taxi back. Our pilot explained that the plane 
that landed before him hit a tree and bent a prop, so our pilot helped him 
straighten the prop with a piece of firewood and an ax.

The Chinook were amazing.
