I question the "pullout" strength. Solder is not especially strong and it has long been understood that it is poor practice to depend on solder for mechanical strength in a joint. Ah - but it has adhesive! The adhesive is on the tube. Polyolefin tube will stretch when cold. Then shrink when hot. Thus "heatstrink tubing" And soldering is less durable in a high stress and vibration environment than a crimp. It should be fairly waterproof though. I would be inclined to use gooey on the inside heatshrink tubing over ordinary crimp butt splices. Or wheel bearing grease and ordinary shrink tubing. _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
