Let me repeat that: Deaths from seasonal flu FAR EXCEED deaths from WRD in the pediatric population. This is important, parents should be empowered to decide what is safe and what is not safe for their children, and clearly the risk of illness or death from WRD should not be a consideration that keeps kids out of school.
2) The impact of the response to the virus is far worse for kids than the virus itself. Suicides are up 25% (in kids), suicidal ideation has doubled, and depression is up 400%.
