I dont think this is much of an issue. Most of the charging occurs at off peak times. It can also be scheduled to do so. Batteries can also be employed, including car batteries, to manage the load. And power infrastructure can also be upgraded, which is long overdue anyway in many areas, and already being reviewed due to forest fires. Solar is pretty good here and we often pay AZ to take it, so some daytime demand would actually be good.
