No, its not the same engine in a different car. 60X engines are way different in many ways. Aluminum heads, hydraulic"lifters" etc. They don't share much with 61X engines except the fuel. 61X older, 60X newer. 601s and 602s were available in 201 chassis cars in 84 while 123s were still running 616s and 617s through 1985, the end of the 123 production run.
