No experience with ultrasonics but I use squirrel guards on the posts that
hold bird feeders and above hanging feeders. Not unlike this
https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/audubon-cone-squirrel-baffle except I
fabricate them from a roll of thin aluminum trim covering (like roofers
use). The only problem is the aluminum is soft and the center hole
enlarges. Thye commercial steel ones last longer.
Since we adopted the cat colony abandoned by a former neighbor (10 still
living) the squirrel problem is solved but the cats (as fat as they are)
occasionally get a bird.

Subject: [MBZ] OT: Squirrels in the bird feeder

Our backyard squirrels have developed a taste for all manner of bird feed -
including suet - and our efforts to squirrelproof the feeders have been
comical failures.

I wonder if anyone has used an ultrasonic repellent to repel squirrels with
any success. Such as this:

eterrent-Control-Chaser/174518089479?hash=item28a216b707:g:6R4AAOSwoP5fr18b

Or this:

Dog-Squirrel-Deterrent-Kit/224363176474?hash=item343d16621a:g:NUQAAOSwwhdgNX
NR

My current control measure is to open the back door and yell at them, which
works for up to 60 seconds.
