The thing about an OBDII car is that the computers talk to each other and share diagnostic information that is actually useful. Using the computer you can target your troubleshooting so you don't need to shotgun parts. Think of the computer as a particular kind of wrench... -Curt

As far as reliability goes, the most trouble free car on this list is probably Mrs. Dan's R129. Not particularly a good choice for a family car.
