A lady friend takes her 08? (I think) Nissan Armada 186kmi, to the
stealer for her free oil change (for life!), and this vid is what she
gets along with a quote for $5k to go through and basically do
everything, change trans, PS, rear diff fluids, $900, $1658 to replace
valve cover gaskets, $150 to replace tie rod boots, $423 to replace
those AC o-rings, $850 to replace UCA boots, $278 for an "oil cooler"
o-ring. $5k total, she freaked out. Looking at the list there is nothing
particularly compelling, the AC probably needs to be fixed but that is
like an hour job if you have an AC machine, the fluids and such are a
PITA but no big deal. Oh and $350 to put in a new fog light ($75 part)...
This is so crazy. She was freaking out, trying to figure out how to
sell this thing and come up with enough money to buy something newer. I
look at this sh*t and tell her to calm down, fix the AC if it is not
BLOWING ICE COLD and deal with the other stuff if need be, or just drive
the thing another 10 years... Plus a buddy works for a good indy not
far from where she lives, take it to him and get the AC fixed and keep
driving...
