So I took the 300D to a mechanic the other day to get the AC working and he
decides to do a check over of the entire car. He tells me that the rear brake
lines are badly rusted which I knew and was planning to replace myself once I
get my 2 post lift in September. He tells me that they started leaking badly
after he probed them to determine the extent of the rust and that now the car
is not driveable and that the rear subframe would have to be dropped in order
to do properly and will cost thousands in labor!

I just wanted my damn AC fixed! I didn’t ask for any other stuff! So now what?
Is it true that subframe needs to be dropped? I may just tell him to finish the
AC and I will drive the car home adding brake fluid as needed and deal with the
brake line repairs myself!
