[MBZ] The tow hitch recall on the ML/GL?

From what I understand there was a recall on the early ML/GL tow 
hitches.  Anybody know about this?  I plugged in my VIN on the NTSB 
website that shows if there are any open recalls, and nothing shows. 
That either means it has already been done on mine or mine was not 
affected. I have also read of people having theirs welded up even more 
aside from the recall. I looked at mine and I did not see anything 
obvious that makes me think it is weak.
