You forget that the USA is all about capitalism and the dream of being wealthy. 70+ million people voted for a recent now ex-President who was all about making money in any way possible for himself and helping his friends to do the same but who had no empathy for the lower classes of poorer people. Even though he wouldn't do a thing for them, they voted for him because he told them he had a plan to make the country great and they all assumed they would make more money.
Companies hire business grads who have been taught how to make money. It is not about making a better product these days. It is all about how to make things cheaper and sell them for more so that the company executives can rake in the cash.
