Kaleb,

My experience is that if a car has a cracked head or blown head gasket you
can tell by cranking the car up cold and checking for pressure in coolant
system (squeeze upper hose). If upon start up you have pressure, then you
have a blown head gasket or cracked head.

If coolant system does not build up pressure until the temperature gets up
to 100+ degrees C then you have a over heating problem.

Subject: [MBZ] its blown I would say

Well I messed with the diesel secret car today a little, started up runs
fine, does not get hot etc sitting there. When you start driving it,
before you get 1/2 mile down the road it starts getting hot. Builds up
ALOT of pressure in the coolant tank also. Actually, before I took off
driving it was not hot, but I could hear what sounded like the radiator
cap popping off pressure. Ran fine though other than that.
