well at least you would be the one showing commitment and if the HR guy
or hiring guy, whoever it is, drops the ball then at least you have been
professional and shown enthusiasm and follow-up etc. which are traits
you need to have when dealing with customers. It would be one thing to
be whining about being passed over but in this case the guy basically
said they would hire you, and then left you hanging, so you are just
making sure something has not fallen in the cracks, or trying to find
out the story. You could always frame it as you have put other things
on hold given their supposed commitment but now you have to move forward
if they are not going to blahblahblah

To a point. It can also be a red flag if the potential employer is already
dropping the ball on what they said they would do.

yes be politely persistent, it is a good trait in a job and it will show

You should still reach out. He made the commitment, so it’s perfectly fine for
you to follow up if he didn’t follow through as promised. Remember, he was the
one that said he would send something out the next day.
He’s likely a busy guy, and either got behind or overcommitted. That’s not your
fault. When dealing with potential new employers there’s nothing wrong with
being proactive, if anything, it shows your interest in pursuing the position.

Suggest to them that your email program or ISP might have spammed their

that was to be sent Wednesday, then call and let you know to look for it

Ever since our company laid off 300 people, many of us have been hounded by
recruiters because our company had a stellar reputation in the industry. I have
talked to a few companies and one caught my interest. It’s a much smaller
company which means they probably do not have as good of a company contribution
for insurance etc. They are a fairly new company but they have been around
since 2010 and deal primarily on the fixed ops side of things. They actually
started off dealing with body shops and have 20k customers so they seem to be
legit. Anyway, a salary range was discussed and I did let them know I would
have to be at the top of their range due to my experience. They agreed with
that. Anyway, Tuesday afternoon they call and say they would like to move
forward and will send me an offer the next day. I have no idea what the offer
is but as of yet I still have not received anything. Since they perused me I am
debating on if I should reach out and see where they are with sending the
offer. If so, what is a normal period of time to wait.
