I was wondering if a big log chain hooked to the top of the posts that
you could run under the car tightly would work to hold it up if anything
let go. It would kinda get in the way of some jobs I guess.
I saw a vid a coupla years ago of some guys in HK or Taiwan or somewhere
who had a Roller up on a lift and it fell off and crushed a guy and
killed him. Seems like they did not do a rock test on the car and it
just teetered of the arms and fell. OOPS At least some kind of safety
chain would have held it up some, maybe.

I got one of these last night and will go back and get another one
today or tomorrow when I can use my 20% off coupon again:

I then ordered one of these on Amazon last night:

I figured I would use the HF ones to support car where needed and the
Amazon one for areas where the smaller footprint will come in handy,
such as pushing up a control arm doing shocks or maybe motor mounts.

I’ve got the big one with the air connection to remove the oil and it’s
quite good, also based on Jono’s recommendation.
Get at least two high lift stands, one isn’t enough. You can
support one
end of the car while you lift something on the other end to ensure you
don’t disrupt the balance much. Took me a lot of cautious trial and
error
to do work like this when I first got my lift. Motor, subframe, diff
mounts, etc. I didn’t think I’d miss the safety of the floor so much!

I decided to sign up for HF inside track in order to use the 20% coupon
and bought 1 high lift stand for the lift. Tomorrow I will buy the
next
one, then Sunday will buy a lift drain bucket (can only use the coupon
once a day). Anyway, should I get this one:

Or splurge and get this one, would use 20% off on either one:

Anybody have either one?
