That may be the one good thing, other than doubling your salary. The only issue
about doubling your income, is NOT doubling your spending.

It is damn hard to do.
Self discipline is a wonderful servant if mastered.

A saying for you (and me too).

I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest helper or your heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.
I am completely at your command.
Half the things you do, you might just as well turn over to me,
and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed; you must merely be firm with me.
Show me exactly how you want something done, and after a few lessons I will do
it automatically.

I am the servant of all great men.
And, alas, of all failures as well.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.
I am not a machine, though I work with all the precision of a machine.
Plus, the intelligence of a man.
You may run me for profit, or run me for ruin; it makes no difference to me.
Take me, train me, be firm with me and I will put the world at your feet.
Be easy with me, and I will destroy you.
Who am I?"

Habit.

Subject: [MBZ] Intense travel jobs?

A guy I used to work with told me about his new company and opening there. Been
talking to them. It’s basically along the same lines as do now, but travel is
much more intense. Currently I might be on the road 3-4 nights a week but I
control it. Some weeks I might not be on the road at all but in general on the
road 3 weeks a month.

This job could often be flying out Sunday afternoon, work at a dealership
Monday, fly out Tuesday afternoon to a 2nd city, work there Wednesday and
Thursday then fly home Thursday night. Sometimes might be Monday thru Friday.
Might have times I have a 4 day weekend. Due to travel might have times I roll
into town at midnight to then get to hotel and at the dealer in the morning.
Other times could be coming back home Friday and have a canceled flight, not
get home till Saturday, then fly back out Sunday.

So the deal is, it’s going to work out to not quite, but nearly double what I’m
making now. It’s a significant pay increase. I would not have as much time for
project cars, that’s for sure. Maybe I shift to buying cars that are not
projects and get rid of all the long term projects.

Anybody that has done intense travel have any thoughts? I have not received an
offer yet but would not be surprised to get one.
